5 days to success with Google AdWords

Google has a new system that makes it possible, for the first time in the history of the world, to deposit five bucks, write a couple of ads, and instantly get access to over 100 million people - in less than 10 minutes.

It's called Google AdWords and it's hot. In fact it may be the first and best thing to do to get traffic to your site.

But it's not always as easy as I just made it sound - AdWords has some nuances, and most people have a rough time at first.

Well my colleague Perry Marshall has written a very helpful e-course called "5 days to success with Google AdWords" and there's no charge for it. You can find out about it here:

Websites Seen as a Big Boost to Small Business

New survey shows websites drive sales and help improve competitive advantage; owners also expect strong holiday sales.
By: Michael Aneiro

Dec. 9, 2004--Four out of five small business owners cite their websites as major contributors to the overall health of their businesses, according to a study released this week.

Of small business owners who said they have a business website, 77% claimed their business is healthier--defined as having a better competitive advantage or stronger economic footing--as the result of the website, while 81% reported that their websites generate business leads. The results were based on nationwide survey of 530 small business owners conducted in October by Interland, a provider of online services for small businesses.

"The killer application that this group is now turning to is online marketing tools and services that help them generate leads and convert those leads into sales," said Joel Kocher, CEO and chairman of Interland, in a statement. "This survey confirms that a website that provides leads and sales is what small-business owners want from their online investments."

Forty-five percent of respondents said that they anticipated online holiday sales to improve this year, while 42% said they expected similar sales to last year. When asked how they planned to prepare for the holiday shopping season, 58% said that they would update their website, while about a third said they would offer special promotions, engage in direct-marketing efforts or increase the number of items or services they sell. The study found plans to increase online advertising (29%) nearly equaled plans to increase offline advertising (28%).

More than a quarter of those polled said they expected between 26 and 100% of their annual 2004 revenues to be through online sales. Twenty-two percent estimated online sales would account for between 11 to 25% and 36% thought it would account for between one and 10%.

The online survey was administered to a nationally representative sample of leaders of organizations with 500 or fewer employees and company size ranging from under $250,000 to over $5 million in annual revenue.

Our Web Development Process

Phase 1 - Discovery
Your Internet marketing consultant will guide the client through the process of discovery. We partner with the client to clearly determine comprehensive web needs and goals, and discuss the options needed to implement a successful plan. This phase is typically done on-site at the client location.

Phase 2 - Site Planning
Your site plan will be developed by your Internet marketing consultant. We'll lay the groundwork for your effective site through industry research and experiences gained by creating hundreds of sites. The initial planning will outline the decisions that will need input from our entire team.

Phase 3 - Team Focus
Our development team will meet and discuss your site goals. All specialists provide their insight into the overall success of the project. In this initial approach, every sector of development is considered: creative, marketing, programming, and technical. This crucial step allows for long-term planning and helps to eliminate surprises.

Phase 4 - Content Gathering
Your Internet marketing consultant will help you choose the appropriate web content path during Discovery. If Chakery Design content services are selected, the content gathering stage is initiated by our web content specialists. On-site appointments, interviews and phone consultations are scheduled with the client to quickly and effectively generate the appropriate web content. If the client chooses to develop the web content internally, our firm acts as a coordinating liaison to receive your text and graphics.

Phase 5 - Beta Composition
Our design team will develop a diverse series of beta compositions (initial snapshots of your overall site) that will illustrate different project opportunities for the client. Our creativity shines in this stage - clients are given a number of options in choosing site design and function - in this stage the site really starts to become a concrete reality.

Phase 6 - Beta Development/Preview
After a successful beta composition is chosen by the client, our design team will continue beta site development in order to create a complete web site for preview and revision. Clients can completely review their site and make desired changes before anyone else can view it.

Phase 7 - Programming and Integration
As defined by specific client goals, our web programming team will deploy a back-end integration plan to connect the static web site to client databases, web applications, search engines, mailing list servers, e-commerce storefronts, merchant processing services, etc. In many cases, web programming development work is done simultaneously with design to keep the project on time for the client.

Phase 8 - Client Revision
This stage enables the client as well as our design team and any outside consultants to review the entire scope of the project for marketing positioning, consistencies, design architecture, programming functionality, spelling, grammar, etc. All revision work occurs through scheduled revision sessions for the client and final approvals are necessary before launch.

Phase 9 - Launch
The final stage of the client project is site launch. Our technical team thoroughly tests all site functions and enables site traffic reporting services. We'll make sure that everything is working flawlessly when it "goes live." Upon site posting, we'll also handle all aspects of selected search engine positioning, as well as help you choose a maintenance plan that will ensure that future site updates can be incorporated seamlessly.

If you are dealing with any web company ask them what there plans are to help make your launch on time and how do they plan to keep you involved during the process. Also ask them how many changes or suggestions during the design process. We work till you are happy, some other companies do not work that way. Ask around and get atleast 3 references from other companies that they have done work for in your area.

Our History

We don't really like to talk about ourselves. But, since you asked...

In 2005, Lisa and Malcom Chakery decided to take a chance on themselves and create their own kind of advertising agency. Right from the start, they wanted to serve clients better than anyone else. Sure, they produced great websites, but only if it worked to improve the client's bottom line.

Lisa & Malcom started out almost exclusively as a print-media and website development agency. Today, our services include everything from broadcast and e-commerce, to web marketing and sales promotion, to market research and public relations, to new media and corporate identity - along with just about anything else our clients need.

No matter how much we change and expand our capabilities, we always keep you, the client, in mind. Awards just aren't our focus. They can look very impressive adorning the ad agency's walls. But what good do they do you? Sure, we'll come up with clever ideas, but unless they truly help you, they're worthless.

You!

It's all about you, isn't it?We think so.Our clients are the center of our world. And that's not just a line. At Chakery Design, it's a way of life. You're not just “another client” to us. And we don't want to be just “another vendor” to you. We want to earn a partnership with you, by helping you succeed again and again.Yes, we'll listen to you. We'll research the history of your business, your target market, your competitors. We'll mull it over. We'll talk about it with each other, and of course, with you. Then - only then - will we make recommendations. So you won't get what you ask for. You'll get more. We'll give you more ideas, more options, more ways to deliver your message and increase your business. And even ideas about how to improve your business overall.
